About the MMTC Donation Program

To build the ranks of well-trained new broadcast station owners, MMTC operates a station donation program. Companies have the opportunity to donate stations to MMTC, tax-free; in turn, any donated station is used to train the next generation of women, minorities and new entrants to become broadcast owners.

Here is how the model works:

  • Broadcast companies donate us stations they no longer need or want – AM/FM signals, in markets where the demos may have shifted or for various other reasons
  • This allows the donor to receive a tax deduction because MMTC is a 501(c)(3) organization
  • Once the FCC grants the transfer, we sell the station to a designated buyer at a sizable discount from fair market value
  • The MMTC program is the nation’s only established start to finish model to incubate diverse managers and assist them to become broadcast owners
  • We’re are always actively seeking stations (radio, TV, CP’s LPTV’s) to be donated to us – it has been a successful program that we are very proud of

In the past decade plus, we’ve had 10 radio stations donated, and more than 90 LPTV stations.  Consider joining our media partners who have already donated an astounding number of radio and LPTV stations by donating your media properties to MMTC Media Brokerage.  Not only does this arrangement benefit broadcast owners by providing a non-profit tax write-off, it allows our firm to use these station to promote diverse ownership, incubation, and other training opportunities for minorities and women.
