National Urban League
Marc Morial has been president of the National Urban League (NUL) since 2003. His stewardship of the 100-year old civil rights organization has led to record fundraising success and the creation of initiatives such as the Urban Youth Empowerment Program. Prior to heading NUL, Morial served as mayor of New Orleans from 1994 to 2002, leading the city through a cultural and economic renaissance. He was a Louisiana state senator before being elected mayor. Morial has enjoyed an extensive career outside of politics as well, as an entrepreneur, award-winning lawyer and professor.
