National Director, Minority Business Development Agency, U.S. Department of Commerce (MBDA)
David Hinson was appointed as MBDA’s National Director by President Barack Obama in July 2009. MBDA’s core mission is to expand the U.S. economy and create new jobs by promoting the growth and global competitiveness of large, medium and small businesses that are minority-owned. Under his leadership, MBDA has experienced its most successful 3 years in its 43-year history, having assisted minority-owned firms in obtaining nearly $12 billion in contracts and capital, and creating and saving over 20,000 jobs. Prior to joining MBDA, Mr. Hinson was President and CEO of Wealth Management Network, Inc., and he has served in various senior-level positions at major Wall Street financial investment firms.
